How to Build an AI Act Evidence Pack

Jan NovakNovember 28, 2025

An evidence pack is your proof of compliance - the collection of documents, records, and artifacts that demonstrate your AI system meets regulatory requirements.

Core Components:

1. System Description A clear explanation of what your AI does, how it works, and what decisions it makes or influences.

2. Risk Assessment Your analysis of potential harms, the likelihood of occurrence, and severity of impact.

3. Data Documentation Records of training data sources, preprocessing steps, and data quality measures.

4. Testing Results Evidence of accuracy testing, bias evaluations, and robustness checks.

5. Human Oversight Procedures Documentation of how humans monitor and can intervene in AI decisions.

6. Change Log A history of significant changes to the system and when they occurred.

7. Incident Records Any issues encountered and how they were addressed.

The key is maintaining this documentation continuously, not scrambling to create it when an audit is announced.
